remember the other day when we made a beautiful raw lasagna?
well, our dinners do not always look like that
for example a few nights ago we carefully put threw together a lasagna salad
well for us our dinner did not turn out so glamorous for the eyes
we try to provide cookbook/blog worthy pictures to help inspire and show how great and beautiful food can be
but sometimes when we are in a hurry and things are not going as planned that meal might not look like a cookbook-blog worthy photo
it is all made with good intentions
here you have it friends, what we like to call our not so pretty lasagna salad, haha
even though it might not look the prettiest, like our one earlier – it sure still tasted just as amazing! and we had a fun time eating it! The reason why we refer to this as our not so pretty lasagna is because our layers were not layering up nicely and it kept falling over, we were laughing the whole time…and we just said screw it, and scrabbled it all together

And there you have it a delicious lasagna salad mixed together with a side of kale hemp flatbread, perfect for a rainy night. This bowl of goodness was quash, avocado cream sauce, tomato, kraut, lettuce topped with more nutritional yeast.
We think we all have had these kinda of meals, right? Do you have not so pretty meals?

I always laugh when people say that would be intimidated to make me dinner because the food on my blog always looks so pretty. I happily tell them that the photos represent about 5% of the food I eat. The rest of the time it is big salads or bowls of greens all mixed together with mashed avocado or sweet potato. It never looks beautiful all mixed up like that – but it tastes amazing. Like you, I enjoy the inspiration that comes from a wonderful photo but I would never get around to eating if everything had to be perfectly plated.

First, I think your meal IS beautiful! I love the colors, it’s vibrant, fresh, plant based..it’s gorgeous! Not every meal is a work of art, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder (I just posted about being judged and being judged on my photography yesterday) but I love your eats…always!

I think it looks beautiful! So vibrant and colorful. Plus, all me meals look like that. The photos I post? That’s pre-mix. Then I mash them all up and stir and they look like the last photo. Which I think is great.
I think the lasagna looks awesome considering i haven’t seen a vegetable in 3 days on our trip. AHHHH!
Most of my meals are not pretty!! That’s why I rarely post photos of them
But they are delicious and nutritious!
sometimes the ugliest foods are the best tasting! (and really, this is hardly ugly!)
