Hand me a beer please

I know what you might be thinking Beer + Candida Cleanse together, what!?! sign me up ;)

Just kidding we made this for Lori’s boyfriend to enjoy since we cannot enjoy something like this till we are done with our cleanse, but I promise you I plan on making this when I am done with gluten free beer of course.

We wanted to make something festive for St. Patty’s Day!

We knew we wanted whatever we made to be green and to be different. As we were discussing what to make Lori mentioned let’s try making socca with beer and see how it turns out!

So that is what we did…

gluten free green beer bread St Pattys

Socca + Beer = answer to all life’s problems ;)

Lori’s boyfriend approved of our beer socca creation!

I must admit while this beer socca was baking it really smelt amazing, it was really hard not to take a slice, haha

It was not the vibrate green Lori and I were looking for but the spirulina did the job.

I plan on enjoying this green socca today!

Twins Question: Any favorite “GREEN” recipes? Are you a beer drinker? Any favorite Irish recipes?

ohmygoodness!!!! I am soooo trying this :) When I was a kid, my favorite food was beer bread (i know…i was a strange child :P ) But I haven’t had it in so long because I don’t eat gluten! Thanks, girls!

  3. Hahaha this might be my favorite socca version yet!! I love beer :) Happy St. Patty’s day to the two of you!!

Green monsters are my favorite green food…well, that and pesto. :) And I am definitely a beer drinker. My very favorite is Bad Penny’s Angry Angel, which is a Kolsch style beer and a local NC beer!

  5. I feel so out of it not following a food trend of something green today. I am such a rebel. I don’t drink beer, I never developed a taste for it. I love beer in bread though. The beer socca sounds perfect!

  6. this is so fantastic! love the spirit

You are so clever! Beer socca sounds AMAZING!

  8. Love it! You know, I still haven’t tried gluten-free beer! I guess I just like wine too much, heh heh. But perhaps I’ll make an exception just to try this glorious creation ;)

  9. Christina says:

How creative! That looks amazing! I made socca last week for the first time but it stuck to the pan :( I think I need to use a bit more coconut oil, I used about 1 tsp.

  10. Serena says:

    Looks amazing.
    Nuff said.

I am now more determined than ever to make me some socca.

PS. Have you tried making tofu omelettes using chickpea flour? I’ve heard it’s amazing.

  13. Oh wow, this looks wonderful! And I have been in my fridge … maybe dinner tonight! :-) Thanks for the recipe.

  14. Lauren says:

I was never a beer fan, but hubby would be all over this! :)

  15. I’m definitely not a beer drinker! But this still sounds interesting—since the beer taste probably does not come through in the socca. I had a couple departures from my anti-candida diet yesterday and today (I think I’m testing it)…but I would definitely not choose to cheat with beer!

Fun! I have to admit I’m not a beer drinker but this is still something I’d sample. ;)

And for some more fun, I gave you an award http://hihorosie.blogspot.com/2011/03/fun-blog-awards-and-meme.html

    genius!! :) happy st. pat’s!!

  18. I LOVE adding beer to food, and this is so much more fun since it’s a health food! though, as a college student, I am apprehensive about wasting the alcohol by pouring it into food–better in my mouth! lol happy st. paddy’s day, you gals always inspire me :)

  19. Mmmmm. Great idea!! And I happen to really like some of the GF beers out there.

quick question:) how did you know you needed to see someone about your health problems. I’m currently wondering if i need to go see someone but candida diagnosis is uncommon for doctors to test for i’ve heard. is it to forward of me to ask what your symptoms were? If your not comfortable i totally understand:)
